Meet Us In the Streets with Solidarity Tonight #BlackLivesMatter

Each week we highlight an Occupy group or offshoot that is doing something unique and winning. All across the country, activists and community organizations are scoring progressive victories against greedy corporations and corrupt politicians. This week we turn to a solidarity action organized by NYC Shut It Down: The Grand Central Crew and Millions March NYC.

NYC ShutItDown and Millions March NYC call for an emergency demonstration for NYC to stand in solidarity with Minneapolis.

On Monday, four white men attacked the #4thprecinctshutdown camp and shot five of its members. It is believed they were white nationalists working in league with the Minneapolis Police Department. Today, New York responds in solidarity with the camp, Jamar Clark, and all victims of white supremacy and police terror.

Join us at 6:00 p.m. in Washington Square Park for an open rally and speakout. All in solidarity are welcome. Then we will take to the streets of our city and shut it down.
