Recently, National Lawyers Guild lawyers settled a class action lawsuit with the City of Los Angeles on behalf of Occupy Los Angeles protesters who were arrested on raid night. Each arrestee from November 30, 2011 is entitled to approximately $4,000; a full list of names is available here. Unfortunately, many of those arrested were unaware that a lawsuit was filed, but each arrestee is able to make a claim to these funds. In order to be paid out, the settlement requires 75% of arrestees to provide their current contact information to the Carol Sobel Law Office (310) 393-3055.
More information is available at www.OccupyLASettlement.Com No one will recieve any funds if 75% of the 292 arrestees do not make a claim. If you were arrested as part of the movement at a different action, this does not apply to you.
